Castor Oil is vegetable oil that comes from the Ricinus Communis plant. A Castor Oil Pack involves putting the oil on a cloth, applying it to the affected area of the body and heating it with a warm water bottle or heating pad to assist with deep penetration and absorption. Our Wildish Castor Oil Pack Kit uses organic Castor Oil a special cloths and a rubber hot water to make the process as easy and effective as possible.
The Uses and Benefits of Castor Oil Packs
Castor Oil Packs increase circulation, support healthy movement of the lymphatic system, calm IBS and other digestive issues, reduce swelling and inflammation, shrinks cysts, growths, and warts. Castor Oil Packs can also often and shrink fibroids on the uterus, as well as ease pain associated with endometriosis. If you’re dealing with abdominal pain from postpartum adhesions and scarring, check out our blog post, called Healing Adhesions With Castor Oil After Cesarean Birth.
The benefits of Castor Oil Packs extend beyond issues in the abdominal area of the body. Injuries occurring in the hands, feet, knees, elbows, shoulders and back, and any injury that results in scar tissue, adhesions, or inflammation. How to Do a Castor Oil Pack
Check out our Castor Oil Pack product page for more detailed instructions. Here’s the high level:
Apply a generous amount of Castor Oil to a flannel or wool cloth that’s big enough to cover the area you want to heal.
Put a heat source like a warm water bottle or heating pad on the Castor Oil-soaked cloth on your body.
Cover the area with a large towel to trap the heat and rest for 30-60 minutes.
When you’re done, wipe the excess Castor Oil off your body and story the cloth in a resealable bag in the refrigerator so that it can be re-used.
Repeat the treatment as often as possible (ideally, at least 3x per week, but more is better) for at least a month.
Be careful not to get Castor Oil on your clothes, sheets, or furniture. If you do, Dawn dish soap applied like a stain remover and washed should get it out. Dawn is great at removing oil-based stains.
Wildish Castor Oil Pack Kit
Our Wildish Castor Oil Pack Kit uses organic, expeller-pressed, hexane-free Castor Oil, an organic three-ply application cloth and a non-toxic rubber hot water bottle and easy-to-follow instructions to make the process as easy and effective as possible. We do not recommend using a heating pad, as they are known to emit Electromagnetic Fields or EMF radiation. Using a heating pad directly on your body increases your exposure to EMFs.
Our kit includes a 100%, non-toxic, rubber hot water bottle because it diffuses the heat evenly and stays warm for hours. With the assistance of a heat-source, Castor Oil can penetrate up to 6 inches deep in the body during a treatment. Using hot water bottles containing toxic plastic chemicals, BPA’s and other chemicals that can penetrate into your tissues and blood stream is not advised.
Hands, Fingers, Wrists, Toes and Ankles
The extremities don’t often receive enough blood flood to fully heal on their own. The combination of Castor Oil and heat assists with the breaking down of adhesions and scar tissue. Use enough flannel to wrap your injury. Apply the hot water bottle to the Castor Oil wrap alternating between the top and the bottom of your injured area.
Digestive System
You want to treat your entire abdomen as it all works together. You will need a bigger cloth that you can apply more oil to. Move your Castor Oil Pack clockwise around your abdomen throughout each treatment to spread the Castor Oil to the entire digestive system, organs, and tissue. If you are treating the gallbladder or liver, it’s still important to treat the entire abdomen to stimulate blood flow and circulation in the entire area.
Shoulders
Shoulders are enormously complex joints and love the attention and healing that a Castor Oil Pack provides. Your Castor Oil Pack will need to be applied on the front, back and top of the shoulder. The hot water bottle and flannel cloth can be draped over the top of the shoulder. Treating the whole shoulder will provide the best results.
Knees and Elbows
Your joints benefit tremendously from the lubrication and healing of Castor Oil making it a great post-surgery healing technique. Wrap your cloth around the area making sure it covers the entire joint. If your cloth isn’t big enough to cover the treatment area, do the top first then the bottom.
Back
Your back is a large area. To treat it you need to be sitting or lying down to move the Castor Oil Pack from top to bottom. You can start at the area you feel the most pain and progressively move it every 10-15 minutes.
Pelvic Area
Any pathology in the pelvic area can be improved by Castor Oil Packs. UTI’s, fibroids, endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, scar tissue, and fertility challenges can benefit from a Castor Oil Treatment. Put your Castor Oil Pack on or just above the pubic bone. You can move it a little up or down, and side to side making sure to treat the entire lower abdomen. It’s always good to treat your sacrum with any pelvic floor issue, as it’s all connected. Do not use Castor Oil Packs during pregnancy or if you believe you may be pregnant.
