Overview

Your breasts go through dramatic changes during pregnancy and especially after delivery as they become a life source for your baby.

Your lymph, lobules, lobes, milk ducts and blood flow expands and increases. You can visibly see veins on your breasts that were not there before. Your breasts are bigger and heavier, the areola is darker and the nipples themselves change, too.

This can be a challenging time for many mothers as they adjust to breastfeeding and/or pumping for hours every day. This salve was created to help you get through these initial weeks.

Not Just The Nipple

You may have seen other sore nipples salves/creams on the market, but most are designed to just moisturize your nipples. While that’s important because the nipples can be the source of the greatest discomfort, there’s a lot more going on in the entire breast that warrants attention.

What makes Nurse Well unique is that this plant-based salve is designed to be applied to the entire breast to support complete breast health during the initial stages of nursing or pumping.

This salve soothes and heals, but it also nourishes blood cells, shrinks inflammation, and repairs the entire breast tissue.

In addition to easing soreness and dry, cracked nipples, a short massage with Nurse Well also increases blood flow, lymph drainage and circulation throughout all parts of the breast: lobes, lobules, lymph and milk ducts. This in turn will reduce the likelihood of clogged ducts, engorged breasts and even mastitis in addition to healing your nipples.

Directions

Have this salve at the ready when your baby is born and begin applying as soon as breastfeeding begins to minimize painful, cracked nipples. Some lactation specialists even recommend beginning application prior to delivery (around 32 weeks or so) to “prime” the nipples for breastfeeding or pumping as this can prevent soreness altogether.

With clean hands, apply a small amount to nipples and surrounding breast tissue, as often as needed and ideally after feeding as applying prior can make it difficult for some babies to latch. Although there’s no need to remove this salve prior to feeding.

Gently massage Nurse Well into the nipples and surrounding breast until completely absorbed into the skin. A short massage with this breast salve increases blood flow, lymph drainage and circulation throughout the lobes and milk ducts.

If you’re experiencing a clogged duct or a part of the breast that is hard, red or irritated, concentrate the salve application on this area, gently massaging into the tissue.

Ingredients

Here’s a few of the ingredients that make Nurse Well so effective.

Sesame & Coconut Oil: Most products you’ll find on the market are made with Olive Oil, because it’s inexpensive. Unfortunately, it’s inferior to oils like Sesame, Coconut, Hemp Seed which are packed with nutrients that nourish and heal the tissue while repairing the skin barrier, and providing anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. A little extra costs for us, tremendous benefits for your breast health.

Burdock Root: Cleansing lymph in the body is key for overall health. Lymphatic fluids work as a filtration system, removing bacteria, microorganisms, dead cells and other unwanted substances. Burdock Root supports this process, eliminating waste and congestion in the lymph, while also serving as an antibiotic, antiseptic, antifungal (…inhale…) detoxifying herb.

Plantains: The nutritional benefits of Plantains are huge. We use them in Nurse Well because of their ability to boost the immune system, combat infection, counteract blood poisoning and remove toxins.
